    OSHA | Docket No. OSHA-2013-0020 Request for Information for Modernization of PSM Standard

    The Chemistry Council of New Jersey (CCNJ) is pleased to respond to the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL’s) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) notice of Request for Information (RFI), Docket No. OSHA-2013-0020, published in the Federal Register on December 9, 2013 at 78 Federal Register 73756-73768. The CCNJ represents over 70 New Jersey companies involved in the business of chemistry (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, flavors and fragrances, petroleum refining, etc.). The business of chemistry directly employs more than 50,000 persons in New Jersey and is responsible for over $25 billion dollars in revenues in New Jersey each year. CCNJ members place high value and priority on safety and security for their employees, their workplaces, and the communities that host them. The CCNJ member companies are committed to continually improving environmental, health, safety, and security performance through common sense advocacy designed to address major public policy issues, health and environmental research, and product testing.

    Bills Banning COVID-19 Vaccination Mandates Filed in the New Jersey Senate and Assembly

    Two pieces of legislation were recently introduced, Senate Bill 3681 (Holzapfel R-10) and Assembly Bill 5096 (Scharfenberger R-13), restricting the establishment of mandates to become vaccinated against COVID-19, for certain individuals.

    Chemical Sector Emergency Preparedness Tabletop Exercise After Action Report

    The American Chemistry Council (ACC)-sponsored Chemical Sector Emergency Preparedness Tabletop Exercise (TTX) provided a forum to facilitate discussion and document roles, responsibilities, processes, protocols, and systems used to support an effective public-private response to emerging all-hazard threats and incidents impacting the Chemical Sector. The TTX was meant to validate and provide feedback to enhance the recently developed draft Playbook for an Effective All-Hazards Chemical Sector Response (the “Playbook”). As a joint publication of the U.S. Department of Homeland (DHS) and the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council (CSCC),1 the Playbook is intended to provide a standard operating procedure to assist the Chemical Sector in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from all-hazards emergency events.
